Andy Zalewski is a licensed architect in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey with over 30 years of professional experience. He received both his undergraduate and Master of Architecture Degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a member of I.C.C. International Code Council and formerly served on the Malden Arts Council and Victorian Society. Andy also served on the Board of Directors of the Builders Association of Greater Boston, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Boston Society of Architects. He presently serves as a Director for Life Resources, Inc., a second chance for troubled teenagers. He has distinguished himself in the design of custom houses, condominiums, apartments and commercial developments, several of which have received national and regional design awards. Completed projects include several custom homes in the White Mountains and Lake Winipesaukee areas of New Hampshire, an award-winning home in North Falmouth, Massachusetts as well as multi-family projects including Caldwell Farm in Byfield, MA, Heritage at Bedford Springs in Bedford, MA, Mainstone Farm in Wayland, MA, Aria in Danvers, MA, The Townhomes at 680 South Avenue in Weston, MA, Heritage at Stone Ridge in Burlington, MA and the Scott Circle Housing Program at Hanscom Field in Bedford, MA for the United States Air Force. The City of Malden, MA has sponsored several retail streetscape and neighborhood rehabilitation developments under Andy's guidance.
John Cronin is a licensed architect in Vermont, Maine, and Texas with almost 30 years of professional experience in the business of architecture. He is a graduate of Wentworth Institute and the University of Massachusetts with degrees in Art and Architectural Engineering and is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Boston Society of Architects, and The Society for Marketing Professional Services, and The Woodlands, TX Chamber of Commerce. His vast experience in working with a wide range of clients in a variety of building situations has given him a strong ability to create design solutions which blend well with their surroundings. His designs for custom homes, builder prototypes, reproduction and renovated homes as well as his participation in the 1990 New American Home project in Atlanta, Georgia have won him recognition in numerous national and regional design competitions. His recent work includes custom home designs and extensive residential renovations in the suburban Boston, MA area, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, rural Maine, as well as The Woodlands and Magnolia, Texas. He has also served as a judge for the FAME and BEST awards competitions in Miami, Florida sponsored by the Builders Association of South Florida; a judge for the Professionalism Awards and OBIE awards programs in Atlanta, Georgia sponsored by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association; a judge for the Tidewater Builders Association of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and as a judge for the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, Missouri.
Claude Miquelle has been a practicing architect and civic leader in the New England area for over 50 years. He attended Williston-Northampton School and Tufts University. The firm he founded, Claude Miquelle Associates, received over 28 national design awards and Claude was named by BUILDER magazine as "one of six of the housing industry's most influential architects." Claude is a recipient of the Builders Association of Greater Boston "Distinguished Achievement Award". He had the honor of designing the 1990 New American Home, a showcase house for the '90's sponsored by BUILDER magazine. His most recent show house was designed for the American Wood Council in conjunction with Better Homes & Gardens in Easton, Massachusetts.
Claude serves as senior advisor to The MZO GROUP.
Anne Rogers holds a B.F.A. degree from the Boston University School of Fine Arts and also completed three years at the Boston Architectural Center. During her 24 years with Claude Miquelle Associates and The MZO GROUP, Anne applies her artistic skills by assisting with design and by creating presentation graphics for projects. Her award winning designs have included whole communities and single-family homes. She has worked with the Malden Redevelopment Authority on several restorations of retail streetscapes, and is currently working on marketing graphics for spec. built homes and designing single-family homes and new townhouse developments.
With a Bachelor of Architecture from The Boston Architectural Center, James brings eighteen years of diverse architectural experience to the firm. His design experience is balanced with the practical experience of previously being a licensed construction supervisor and project representative/clerk of the works on several public housing developments. Working with projects ranging from commercial development and renovation, historic preservation, public and luxury housing, as well as a variety of municipal projects has afforded Jim experience with many construction types and project scales. Jim has designed a number of successful commercial and residential projects in the region including several notable projects in the Lowell National Historic Park.
Bob has been an integral part of the MZO team since 1999. He is a graduate of Dean College with an Associate Degree in building construction with an emphasis on architecture. Bob has extensive practical design and construction knowledge, working in the construction field for over 18 years with hands-on experience in framing, masonry, finish carpentry, and remodeling. Additionally, he was a freelance designer for multiple residential builders and developers in the southern New Hampshire area. Bob’s management skills are field-tested, having been Project Manager for many award-winning homes designed by The MZO GROUP and a large residential development in suburban Boston. Prior to joining The MZO GROUP, Bob was Assistant Director of the architectural and engineering department of a large modular home manufacturer where his attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to communicate with others came through and continues in the designs and management of today’s homes.
Eric Gjerde is a licensed architect in the state of Massachusetts with over 10 years experience in Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Ma with a bachelor of architecture degree. He is a member of National Council of Architectural Registration Boards as well as The Boston Society of Architects and The American Institute of Architects.
His experience ranges from luxury home design, Historic Preservation additions/renovations, multi-family developments, as well as commercial tenant improvement for various client types.
George holds both a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Boston Architectural Center and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. During his 27 years in the architectural profession, George has been involved in many aspects of architecture from design to construction administration.
Projects that George has been involved in have ranged from single family homes and developments to multi-family projects; mixed use developments; commercial developments and renovations.
Sandy Sturrock is a marketing professional in The Woodlands, Texas with 25 years of experience in global marketing communications. She created, developed, and implemented internal/external events and conferences for groups of 30 to 15,000+. Her responsibilities included the strategy and implementation of event marketing initiatives such as; sports marketing, sponsorships, executive communications, press events, media production, trade shows, conferences, international sales conferences, and incentive events. She directed a staff of 60+, managed multiple international vendor and contractor relationships with an annual budget of $60 million.
She designed, built, and opened an inn and a restaurant on an island in Maine. She has also designed, built, and decorated multiple homes and her homes and inn have been published and featured in Better Homes & Gardens, Weekend Homes, HGTV Nationwide Open House, Portland Press Herald, and multiple travel magazines.
Michael has been instrumental in establishing most of the computer and working systems currently in place at The MZO GROUP and has implemented and maintained the bulk of our CADD and information software. Mike continues as a consultant in a support capacity. He has also designed, optimized, and continually maintains our corporate web site.
Gerry joined The MZO GROUP in 2001. In addition to receptionist duties, her expertise in photography and digital imaging has created an impressive array of public relations materials that help us clearly present our portfolio of work. She prepares submission packets for award competitions throughout the course of the year and in recent years has designed our annual holiday card. Her 10 years of public relations experience helps keep our office running smoothly.
